Marca College Alumni Story: Scott Taylor
Scott Taylor needed a breath of fresh air. He had been working within the corporate world and increasingly became frustrated and bored with the industry. This propelled him to begin a rewarding career where he makes others feel better about themselves – inside and out!
Scott thrived at Marca College, explaining it as an “eye-opening time.” He learned there is a lot to discover behind the chair which included some self-exploration. When asked to describe Marca College in three words, he says, “Personalized, knowledge and family.” Instructors take time to find solutions for everyone’s learning styles and the family-feel creates a comfortable environment to learn in.
As a recent graduate, he has some advice to offer potential and current students, “Follow your passion and excel in what makes you happy!” Upon graduation, Scott recommends everyone thoroughly researches salons that interest them. He sees great value in education and because of this, working at a salon that supports learning and is willing to invest in you is important.
Currently, Scott works at Taz Hair Co. in Etobicoke. He loves that every day he is surround by L’Oreal educators who are more than willing to provide tips and tricks to help Scott become a better colourist. Seeing as he spends more time in the salon than at home, Scott enjoys the family environment cultivated within the salon.
For Scott, learning and perfecting his craft is constant. He looks up to industry professionals that push the industry to a new edge, “The ones who are constantly evolving their looks, style and don’t just settle. They have a great passion to express their art in the form of hairstyling.”
Scott Taylor’s must-have looks for Fall 2016: A combo of deconstructed yet refined looks. Braids will stay for some time due to the elegance and sense of edge without loosing the length everyone is constantly wanting. Scott personally loves an edgy modern bob.
We wish Scott Taylor the best of luck in all he does and look forward to following his journey!
